How Impact Recovery System works

Simply slip bollard on & off!

Undo security stud and slip off bollard casing.  Use tools to remove Internal securing post from ground socket or base plate. If bollard is badly impacted the internal post will need replacing.

Simple to Replace

Use Allen key to remove Impact Recovery Rings or EPS Sleeve and screw driver to remove the self-locking Taper from the internal post. Re-use all Smart components to reinstate the bollard

Make bollards self-recover

When impacted by a vehicle Impact Recovery Rings absorb the impact force and allow the bollard to slowly safely self-recover impact after impact. In-ground or surface mount.

In-ground Rigid

The Impact Recovery System is simply dropped into the ground socket and automatically locks in using the Smart self-locking Taper. An EPS Impact Absorbing Sleeve is slipped over the post. The bollard is simply slipped over the EPS sleeve and secured using a security stud. Tools required. Keeps working impact after impact, year after year. See videos below.


In-ground Self-Recovering

An EPS Impact Absorbing Sleeve is slipped over the internal securing post. The bollard is simply slipped over the EPS sleeve and secured using a security stud. Tools required. Keeps working impact after impact, year after year. See videos below.

 

Surface Mount Self-Recovering:

Internal securing post (only replaceable component) can be altered to suit your requirements

If badly impacted, the internal securing post will bend at ground level and need replacing.

  • Internal securing post should be minimum 3.6 mm wall thickness to avoid frequent damage
  • To further reduce risk of internal post bending you can increase the wall thickness to 5 mm (this will increase risk of damage to vehicles and is only suitable for 650 mm foundations)
  • If you wish to stop a vehicle you need a solid steel 60 mm diameter internal core (only suitable for 650 mm in-ground version)
